On average the smallholder farmer in East Africa owns a 2 acre piece of land, practicing mixed farming in particular doing a cash crop like coffee or tea and owning some cattle. The production rate at this level normally goes towards subsistence consumption, this limiting the farmers the ability to trade their yields. Through an internal survey conducted by Shamba Records; it was found out that more 80% of the small holder farmers would like to increase their production through leasing land in order to trade and profit. To support this initiative, Shamba Records is running a campaign that will go towards helping farmers lease new farm lands and access quality farm inputs. Your generous support is a key to unlock new incomes and raising their living standards.
